In 1869, Safvet Pasha ordered the establishment of a museum named the Imperial Museum (Müze-i Hümâyûn). The museum’s collection, housed in the Tiled Kiosk, includes artefacts from the Hagia Eirene and objects from various regions of the Ottoman Empire.. This is a very well made course, more like a TV documentary than a lecture series. It was great to visit all the locations, hear from different interviewees, and get the personal perspective of the lecturer who clearly knows that area and subject well. it’s not a very detailed art history course, but it’s a great series of films.
